A lot of five copper lustre items, each with raised decorations on the side, consisting of a small footed bowl, with pink birds in flight over green clouds on saffron color background for the relief decoration, 5-1/4" in diameter at the lip x 3-1/2"H; a cream jug with white relief scenes and other decorations including blue striping, 4"H x 4-1/2" in diameter at the widest point; a small milk jug with a blue glaze on the wide part of the body with relief designs on each side of a polychrome glazed vase of flowers, 5-3/4"H x 4-1/4" in diameter at the widest point; a milk jug with a polychromed scene with figures and flowers in relief on the sides on a taupe glazed background, with a curvilinear flowing handle, 6-1/2"H x 5" in diameter at the widest point; and a milk jug with a relief on the sides of a group of putti, with one riding on a lion, 4" in diameter x 5-1/4"H.

And tell me how You like your tea." surrounded by hand colored transfer printed flowers, 3"H x 2-3/4" in diameter; a copper lustre cream jug with hand painted "oriental" scenes with figures and flowers on the body, 3-3/4"H x 4-1/4" in diameter; two small cream jugs and a miniature cream jug and sugar pot marked "English Ware...Lancaster...Sandland Ltd...Hanley, England", in copper lustre and pink glazes, the small creamers 3" H, the miniature creamer 2-1/4"H and the sugar pot (lidless) 1-5/8"H; a copper lustre cream jug with bands of light ochre on the body, decorated with a tracery of copper leaves and vines, 4"H x 3-1/4" in diameter, a rare copper lustre cream jug with a bird in flight figurative handle, the sides glazed in a carmel color with hand painted copper tracery on top, 4-1/2"H x 4" in diameter; and an early copper lustre cream jug with the sides transfer decorated with idyllic country scenes with figures in rust color on white background, and the collar hand decorated with a foliate pattern in like colors, 4"H x 3-1/4" in diameter.

A lot of four copper lustre and pink lustre cream jugs and one challice, consisting of; a pearlware cream jug with a ribbed body, with pink lustre resist tracery on the collar and bottom and copper lustre on the balance of the outside, 4"H x 3" in diameter; a copper lustre cream jug with a band of white on the body decorated with pink lustre and multicolor foliate designs, 4"H x 3" in diameter, a large copper lustre cream jug with bands of pink lustre on the body and collar which are hand decorated with scenes of a house inside ovoid medallions and foliate designs between and on the collar, with pink lustre on part of the interior, 5"H x 4" in diameter; a rare "gravelware" cream jug decorated in coppery lustre and "fisheye" pink lustre, 4-3/4"H x 3-1/2" in diameter; and a copper lustre challice, with pink lustre hand decoration within a white band on the sides, with hand painted tracery and green leaves, 4-1/4"H x 3-1/2" in diameter at the rim, the interior entirely in copper lustre.

569. A 19th Century Spanish Talavera Inkwell
A pretty 19th Century Talavera inkwell made in Spain, in the shape of a platform supported by twelve ceramic legs; the flat portion of the top hand glazed in the image of two cartoonish tall birds standing in between two trees, beyond which is a raised platform decorated with foliate designs with inserts for a ceramic ink pot with a lid and a corresponding container with holes to hold quills. The corners behind the pots have a flaring yellow fluted shape standing up. Between the two pots is a figurine of a fantastical beastie seated on a plinth with his bowl off to the left. Overall the piece measures 10-1/2"W x 11-1/4"D x 6"H. Marked in the glaze on the bottom is "Talavera...Spain"

570. A Pair of Spanish Jardinieres, Circa 1900
A brightly polychrome glazed hand decorated pair of large Talavera jardinaires, ca. 1900 made in Spain. Each has scrolling foliate forms with vases and beastie faces, and one decorative central medallion shape with an oval wreath shape surrounding a floral design. Each jardinaire is 11"H x 12-3/4" in diameter at the top and 7-1/2" in diameter at the bottom. Each is marked "Spain" on the bottom, and each has a drain hole. One also has the marking "Spain" on its interior.

The largest of the three tiles depicts a lion passant and geometric decorations, including fleaur-de-lys, impressed under glaze, some over-painting along the lower margin, measures approx. 6" square; second tile features a cross hatched design with dots, and the same color palette as the larger tile, measures approx. 4-3/4" square; third tile is somewhat brighter that the other two, and features a stylized flower in the center and a stylized border, overall measures approx. 5-3/8" square.
