789. A Flemish Painted Chest, Circa 17th Century
Panels depicting a variety of rural landscapes, set into an ebony cabinet, probably from Antwerp. Possibly missing original hinged outer doors, sectioned in three with the top and bottom portions having three drawers, the center having six drawers and a columned door with an arch pediment, behind which is a mirrored interior. The rippled ebony moldings framing the panels are typical of those seen on pictures frames and other details of the period. Turned open-worked supports grace the front of the cabinet. Approx. 32"T x 46"W x 18-1/2"D.

790. A Carved Italian Cabinet on Stand, ca. Late 19th/Early 20th Century
A carved wooden Italian cabinet on stand, maker unknown, ca. late 19th/early 20th Centurty after the Renaissance style; the stand 44"W x 18"D x 36"H, the cabinet 41-1/2"W x 15-1/2"D x 38-1/2"H. The stand has four columnar legs, a shelf below and paneled back. The cabinet has two doors with interior shelves below which are two drawers. The front and sides of each piece are elaborately carved in relief; the doors with figures, architectural elements and foliage, the drawers with meandering foliage and faces of fantastical animals, the frieze carved with flowing foliage and faces, the pediment with foliage, a broken pediment facade with a monument seen through the portal, the sides and legs are carved with curvilinear foliate patterns. There is a locking mechanism and key. The fine hinges and interior bolts are attractive hand forged metal.

791. A Fine English Chest of Drawers, English Circa 18th Century
Possibly Gillows, in the Hepplewhite style. Mahogany chest with fine satinwood banding. One long drawer over three long drawers, all missing escutcheons. Carved stiles with blossoms over knoped feet. Block rear feet. Locking mechanisms intact, however possibly not working. Upper drawer has had the knobs moved and with separate compartments. Wonderful use of material with attention to timber grain. Back with affixed label from Italian antique dealers. Approx. 37"T x 53"W x 22-1/2"D.

792. A Fine Mahogany Breakfront, Circa Late 19th/Early 20th Century
A vintage piece in the Sheraton style with neoclassical glass front panels. Notched edge-work on cornice, ogee carved front feet with rear block feet. Two side panels with three center long drawers with bail handles, flanked by side compartments with interior shelving. Nice edge banding. Upper cabinet with shelving, applied contact paper and greenish silk fabric, tacked to interior. Working locks with key, overall in two sections. Very pretty and rich wood grain. Approx. 6'6"T x 5'4"W x 1'10"D.

A marquetry cabinet-on-stand, late 19th Century, in the style of a 17th Century collector's cabinet. The top portion of the cabinet has two doors, with marquetry in the image of a Dutch still life, with applied moldings, and with a two-shelf interior. The base has two drawers, spiral turned legs, and curvilinear stretchers. Approx. 5'1"T x 4'3"W x 1'7-1/2"D.

794. A Partial Parlour Set
A partial parlour set, consisting of a settee and a chair, both with arms, both upholstered in a woven floral fabric and trimmed with ivory French gimp at the edges, the frames made from carved mahogany, with rounded backs and curvilinear fronts, with scroll feet and scroll arms, with pierced carved foliate patterns on the backs that surround a central shape similar to a lyre. Both are on small wooden wheels. The settee measures 50"W x 41"H x 22" seat depth, the chair measures 38"H x 27"W x 20" seat depth. ca. early 1900's.

795. A Handsome Pair of French Side Cabinets
A pair of French side cabinets, each with one drawer and one door below. The structure of the pieces are made of bronze color metal, with ornate cast metal ornamentation overall. The sides, tops and the face of the doors are in black reverse painted glass. The interior of the drawers are wood; lined with printed paper as is the interior below. Each piece has a partial gallery top in cast metal with columns and gadroons. The front of the drawers is embellished with foliate relief and surrounded by egg and dart details, as are the other edges. The posts ahave rosettes and floral drops with anthemion relief motifs below. The front of each door silhouettes a gadrooned cast metal urn filled with flowers. Each table is 19-3/4"W x 13-3/4"D x 28"H.
