1068. Japy Freres Mantle Clock & Garniture Set, French, Circa 19th Century
An outstanding gilt bronze clock and candelabra set with hand painted porcelain plaques and medallions depicting young girls and a cherub on the dial. Roman numerals on porcelain dial gilt, with fancy reticulated hands. The movement is stamped "Japy Freres & Co." included are pendulum and key. Clock and candelabra are attached to gilt wood base, which once had a velvet surface, which is now worn away. Base has evidence of gessoe and red clay under the gold. Bottom of base if stamped "D.S." and "883". Candelabra have five lights each, back of bronze stamped 10826. Back of clock stamped 10916. Clock apprx 19"T x 12"W, candelabra apprx 19-3/4"T x 7"W.

1069. An Antique Ladies' Pocket Watch in a Display Case
A beautifully presented ladies' pocket watch displayed in a crystal and gilt watch safe. The watch is approx. 1-1/2" in diameter. Both sides of the outer case are enameled with cobalt blue guilloche backgrounds; one with a portrait of a lovely young lady and the other side with a flourish of pink poppies. Each enamel is encircled by a half seed pearl bezel, each in a two-pronged setting. The interior of the watch has a convex crystal and a porcelain face with Roman numerals and gilded foliate accents. Part of the works is visible through the front crystal. The interior of the front cover has a large sun-shaped design and maker's marks. The works are made by Ullman. The watch hangs in a lovely beveled crystal case of architectural form, with curvilinear feet and surmounted by an handle. Inside the watch hangs from a hook and is surrounded by a beaded backing tray, held up by two putti. The interior bottom is deeply button tufted silk satin and the outside of the bottom is covered in velvet. The case measures approx. 5"H x 3"W x 2-3/4"D.

1070. An Antique Mantel Clock
An antique mantel clock with architectural detailing, in brown stained wood with hammered and cast detailings and frills in brass-tone metal. The horse at the top has been painted with gold-tone paint. The case has a front opening latched door; the winding key and the pendulum are loose inside. The face of the clock is white enamel with black Roman numerals and black hands, surrounded by a gold metal egg and dart relief design. There is also a smaller beaded gold metal ring between the pieces of enamel. The case is elaborately decorated with brasses tacked on to emulate ormolu, and the pediment is surmounted by the relief image of a rearing horse. The overall size is 24-1/2"H x 12"W x 5-1/4"D. No maker's mark was found.

An antique American shelf clock, with a wooden case, with a reverse painting in the lower half of the door and the clock face above, overall measuring 22-3/4"H x 13"W x 5"D. The glass in the door is old rolled glass with ripples and bubbles. The scene depicted in the reverse painting is possibly Monticello.

French style mystery upside down swinging clock. The clock consists of a suspended movement, which resembles a pendulum. The clock movement has a skeleton style design, which allows you to see through it. Roman numerals over black porcelain dial. Marked Huguenin, A Paris on the movement dial. Classic style column base. Overall measures approx. 28" tall.

1074. An Ansonia Shelf Clock
An attractive Ansonia shelf clock, with the case made of black onyx in several parts, with chip carved and gilded ornamentation and plum colored marble end pieces embellishing the upper portion. The face of the clock is white enamel with black Roman numerals and part of the works is visible, the face bears the trademark of the maker. The face is covered by a hinged circular beveled glass door surrounded by a beaded gilt brass besel, and the face inside is surrounded by a gilt brass egg and dart relief motif which is approx. 1/2" wide. The back of the case haas a pierced hinged metal door, 5" in diameter, that is backed with a piece of cloth; to let sound through. The overall measures 9-1/2"H x 9-3/8"W x 5-3/4"D.

A New Haven Clockworks Neo-Gothic style shelf clock, with a dark wood veneered case with a door with a circular clear glass panel above showing the clock face, and a reverse painted rectangular glass panel with an applied rose picture at the center in the bottom panel of the door, with smaller discs as a decorative motif below and to the side of the clock face. The face of the clock is painted in Roman numerals and the hands are black. The overall size of the clock measures 17-7/8"H to the top point x 10-5/8"W x 4-1/4"D at the base. The clock is accompanied by three winding keys. The back of the interior of the case is "wallpapered" with information about the clock and maker printed on paper.

A Sessions eight day shelf clock, in a mid-19th Century Gothic Revival shape, with a pointed architectural form flanked by two finials, with a transfer painted face that says "Sessions" and "Made in U.S.A.", with a two-panel wood framed door with the upper portion in clear glass and the bottom portion with reverse painted black glass with a transfer print of a ship in full sail in an oval format at the center. The overall size of the clock measures 15-3/4"H x 9-1/2"W x 4-1/4"D.

Atmos mantel clock, special edition made for Cartier, 9-1/4"H x 8-1/2"W x 6-1/2"D, with Swiss made words, fifteen jewels, with gold tone plated case and with polished edge glass side and top panels, the name "Cartier" incised into the rim of the face, with a matte finish with silver face and gold tone Arabic numerals and hands. 15 jewels and numbered 15157, dating it to 1923.
