276. Ann Froman (American, Contemporary)

"Dancing Waters". A limited edition acrylic sculpture, ed. 99, signed in the base Froman '87, and numbered A.P. 7/10. Overall size approx. 22" x 15". A copy of letter from the artist dated Nov. 2, 1987 accompanies the lot.

A native New Yorker, Froman received her formal training at the National Academy of Fine Arts, the Fashion Institute of Technology and the Fountainebleu School of Fine Art in France, where she studied architecture with the incomparable Le Corbusier and painting with Henri Goetz. She took her first course in sculpture at the New School for Social Research, and with just six months of sculpting experience, showed at a local exhibit where she sold every piece. Twenty years later, Froman's work can be seen all over America, from Radcliffe College to Brooklyn College, Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas to private homes in Dutchess County, Time-Warner to the CIA (the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, that is, where Froman designed a sculpture for the American Bounty restaurant.)
