| 409. A Sterling Silver Ladies' Minaudiere
A delicate sterling silver ladies' compact, marked "925" and hallmarked, satchel shaped, 1"H x 3"W, with an engraved ribbed surface and a foliate trim bordering each side, and with a small cabachon sapphire on the catch. Inside the metal surfaces are chased in gold. There is one large hinged compartment with a celluloid writing surface on the reverse side of the mirror and two smaller hinged powder compartments on the other side. There is a small silver nub near the hinge on the outside that once may have attached a carrying strap. Weighs approx. 4.3 troy oz. (including mirror). 200/400 Sold $356.50 back to catalog |
