1069. An Antique Ladies' Pocket Watch in a Display Case

A beautifully presented ladies' pocket watch displayed in a crystal and gilt watch safe. The watch is approx. 1-1/2" in diameter. Both sides of the outer case are enameled with cobalt blue guilloche backgrounds; one with a portrait of a lovely young lady and the other side with a flourish of pink poppies. Each enamel is encircled by a half seed pearl bezel, each in a two-pronged setting. The interior of the watch has a convex crystal and a porcelain face with Roman numerals and gilded foliate accents. Part of the works is visible through the front crystal. The interior of the front cover has a large sun-shaped design and maker's marks. The works are made by Ullman. The watch hangs in a lovely beveled crystal case of architectural form, with curvilinear feet and surmounted by an handle. Inside the watch hangs from a hook and is surrounded by a beaded backing tray, held up by two putti. The interior bottom is deeply button tufted silk satin and the outside of the bottom is covered in velvet. The case measures approx. 5"H x 3"W x 2-3/4"D.
