A collection of six "Mazara" commemorative plates in cobalt blue transfer decoration on white porcelain, made by W. Adams & Co. of England for Wright Tyndale & Van Roden of Philadelphia, PA. Each plate measures approx. 10" in diameter, with a flared rim approx. 1"H. Each depicts a different scene including: "Philadelphia Water Works Begun 1799", "State House", "Chew House Germantown", "Birmingham Meeting House", "Old Court House West Chester, PA", and "Washington's Headquarters Valley Forge". Each is marked in the glaze on the back with the W. Adams Co. Crown and Circle mark, and "Wright Tyndale & Van Roden Philadelphia" and the title of each. Each image is surrounded by a basket-weave decoration printed on the rim. 150/300 Sold $57.50 back to catalog |
