| 928. A Group of Antique Edge Weapons Including: a Rare Signed Kinjal from Caucasus Region of Russia, ca. 19th C., Nepalese Combat Knife Kukri, and Moroccan Jambija, and a Fancy Enamel and Silver Overlay Prayer Wheel
1) Traditional 19th Century Kinjal from Caucasus region of Russia; elaborate metal work on the scabbard featuring arabesques and an overall floral pattern, the last 2-1/2" are wound in wire, inlay decorations on the other side; hilt decorated with traditional raised arabesques; signed on the scabbard and on the blade, measures approx. 17-1/2"L. 2) Traditional Nepalese combat kukri knife with a re-curved and very sharp single edge blade with twin fullers, embossed leather scabbard features a brass tip and a serrated brass decoration at base, polished horn hilt with brass overlay bands and a figurative brass finial, two pockets on the back holding two little knives (the kardas) used for skinning small game or as a penknife, overall measures approx. 17"L. 3) A Moroccan Jambiya dagger with a traditional curved blade, ornate mixed metal scabbard with chased and overlay work, missing one side ring, wooden hilt with a brass mount finial, measures approx. 15-1/4". Included in the lot is a fancy prayer cup with a carved wooden handle, enamel and silver overlay body and a silver top (silver is tarnished), attached chain decorations on the sides; overall the piece measures approx. 9"L. 500/800 Sold $1,063.75 back to catalog |
