Small quarto, xiii, 248 pp. With color frontis and 39 sepia-toned illustrations by Peter Newell, all witty; beautiful wide green borders on every page by Robert Murray Wright (stylized animals, birds, fish, etc.) Full ivory parchment paper covered boards with gilt letters on boards and spine. Gilt top edge; other edges deckled. This edition is collectible for the illustrations and beautiful book design. 2) "...Now Extant Relative to that Celebrated English Outlaw to which are prefixed Historical Anecdotes on His Life by Joseph Ritson, Esq." London: William Pickering, 1832. Numerous illustrations by Bewick in both volumes. Octavo, bound in olive-dyed calf, boards framed in gilt fillet, spines with four raised bands, ornate gilt and title in maroon. Vol.1 148 pp, Vol. 2 261 pp. 3) Philadelphia: Blanchard and Lea, 1854. viii, 426 pp plus advertisements; vii 511 pp. Translated from French by Andrew R. Scoble. American edition (also published same year by Richard Bentley, London, and in France and elswere). Olive blind-stamped cloth binding with gilt lettering on spine.
