An interesting advertising illustration, probably done for First National Bank. Gouache on illustration board, not signed, matted and framed under glass, 15-1/4" x 15-3/4" sight size, with framing overall 25-1/4" x 25-1/4". A happy bustling scene of a small town intersection ca. 1940's America. Presumably the First National Bank is central for good reason. To the right is a delivery van outside an art gallery, to the left more vehicles and pedestrians, and especially a frozen foods delivery truck, with a street vanishing into the distance where a large metropolis is on the horizon. Above the clouds an "allegorical" scene floats; depicting abundance, with farmers and animals around two lovely ladies shopping in a frozen foods refrigerator. Above Heartland America floats vegetables, fruit, fish and foul.
