| 789. A Flemish Painted Chest, Circa 17th Century
Panels depicting a variety of rural landscapes, set into an ebony cabinet, probably from Antwerp. Possibly missing original hinged outer doors, sectioned in three with the top and bottom portions having three drawers, the center having six drawers and a columned door with an arch pediment, behind which is a mirrored interior. The rippled ebony moldings framing the panels are typical of those seen on pictures frames and other details of the period. Turned open-worked supports grace the front of the cabinet.
