1018. "The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club", by Charles Dickens

London: Chapman and Hall, 1837. First edition with 43 humorously etched illustrations by Seymour and Phiz, thick 8 vo, newly and most handsomely bound in 3/4 levant morocco super extra, full gilt back, gold lines on sides, gilt edges. Frontispiece with tissue guard, titled page laid on backing paper, some restorations to paper throughout, very little foxing-clean and bright. "Discovery of Jingle in the Heat" illustration has restored lower corner.
