550. A Sevres Lidded Bowl with Bronze Ormolu Mounts, French, Circa 1890

A Sevres lidded bowl with ormolu mounts, overall approx.7" in diameter (porcelain alone) x 11"H to the top of the finial. The porcelain bowl mounted onto a pierced pedestal base with beaded and carved foliate details, with three fittings in the form of busts of classically garbed winged maidens on a curvilinear foliate support, with a matching finial surmounting the lid with acanthus leaves and berries. The porcelain is hand painted with a chartreuse background with tiny green flowers and gilt clobbering, with bands of meandering multicolor flowers on a ribbon-like background, edged by gilt clobbering. The finial is also surrounded by a smaller band of colorful flowers. The bowl part of the porcelain is pierced with a row of circles just below the lip.
