A very fine and unusual 17th/18th Century Chinese porcelain casket with lid, in a rich turquoise "fish roe" crackle glaze inside and out over white porcelain, flaring rectangular in shape, on tall scrolling legs with animal faces at the knees, with fin details on the body, two handles, the lid surmounted by a Foo lion. The casket stands on a beautifully detailed carved wooden base made specifically to fit its feet. The casket measures approx. 14"H from foot to top of lion, x 9"W x 6-1/4"D.
