A magnificent 17th Century Italian harpsichord case with 20th Century workings made by Eric Herz (American, 1919-2002), with the entire case and legs carved and embellished with painted and gilded images of flowers, putti, vignette scenes, insects, birds and animals and other foliate designs. The case rests on a carved and gilded base with four carved legs. The case measures overall approx. 78"L x 31"W x 37"H. The sound is bright and resonant. The workings are inscribed "Eric Herz Me Fecit Bostonidae Anno MCMLXXXII". The harpsichord has a single keyboard with bone and ebony keys, and is hand built from a beautiful light ruddy color wood.

A pair of circular malachite tables surmounted on ornate gilt bronze bases with "S" fern scroll; with acanthus leaves, egg and dart details; probably married. Pierced gallery surround at the malachite edge. No marks found. Approx. 23"T x 19-1/2"D.

A carved dark oak coffer, ca. 17th Century, with the front carved in geometric and meandering motifs, the top plain with a small edge detail, the sides set in panels, on slightly tapered legs, measuring overall 42"W x 19-1/2"D x 25"H. All in hand-hewn wood. With a necessary tray at the right of the interior.

An 18th Century Neo-Gothic court cupboard, in dark carved oak, approx. 53"W x 17"D x 57-3/4"H, with linenfold carved detailing on the sides, four carved panels on the front (two of which are doors), with hand forged hardware and lock, the cabinet up on tall carved legs with a lower shelf and a panel back. The outside back is hand chamfered. This piece was probably used first in a church.

The fronts of the cabinet and of the drawer are carved in low relief. The cabinet measures approx. 28"W x 19"D x 46-1/2"H. Locking mechanism works.

A dark oak oval dining table with a crossed support and pitched legs in flat scrolling designs, with hand hewn peg construction, measuring approx. 47-1/2" x 64" x 28"H. There are initials carved in the legs of the table; one side has a "GB" carved in a circular medallion with "BP" above it, the other leg also has a "GB" in a similar shape and the initials "FP" enclosed in a shape like an omega on a detail on the upper part of the leg.
