A Magnificent 24-Feet Long Hand-Made Needlepoint Rug, Probably Portuguese, ca. late 19th/early 20th Century Overall vermillion red background separated into small panels which are woven with elaborate flower clusters. Each intersection of the grid is decorated with stylized quatrefoil medallions with navy blue and beige backgrounds. Border designs include a baby blue scalloped border, stylized branches over black background and inverted "J" motif over beige background. Fine wool thread with cotton/canvas backing.
