He received his education at the Vienna Art Academy and as a pupil of his father. His works portrays the scenes so typical of lowlands of Germany England and the Netherlands, as well as the Danube Valley of Austria. Knotter paintings depict peace in a hurried, War-weary...., and his works are very popular in Europe, as well as the United States."
