A sterling silver shaped crumb tray and brush, the tray with molded designs and the hollow molded brush with matching designs. The brush has natural bristles wired into a wood base countersunk into the handle, with a ring for hanging. The tray is marked "sterling 925". The brush is marked "sterling" on an inside edge. The tray measures 8" x 9" x 3/4"D; the brush is 11-1/4"L. The handle of the brush appears to be slightly weighted so the silver content cannot be accurately weighed. The tray weighs 5.3 troy oz.

An unusual silver creamer and sugar bowl, with Danish hallmarks on the underside, possibly A. Halberstadt. The sugar bowl has two handles and is approx. 4" in diameter and has images of two classical figures etched on either side. The creamer measures 2-3/8" in diameter and also has two classical figures etched on the sides. Together the total weight is 8.7 troy oz.

A pair of Elkington & Co. silver plate candle holders with glass hurricanes and candle snuffers, ca. 20th Century. Each on a 3-3/4" diameter base with the hurricane supported by four rods with rondel details at their centers, with a detachable snuffer affixed to one rod and a circular grip on another rod with an oval thumb press on which is etched a dragon's head. With the hurricane, each holder is 8-1/2"H overall, the lip of the hurricanes are 5" in diameter. Each is marked and hallmarked on the bottom of the base.

An unusual personal flask, in a circular disc shape on a simple oval base marked "Sheffield England", the front of the flask with a brass "porthole" with a clear glass insert which reveals the image of a sailboat on the inside of the back of the flask. The top screws on and has a cork insert inside. The flask measures 3-3/4" in diameter x 1"D x 4-1/2" from base to top.

A large lot of 42 Mother of Pearl handled knives with sterling silver collars in various relief patterns. The lot consists of 10 J. Russell & Co. knives (9") (in poor condition), 4 by Landers Frary & Clark Aetna Works (9-1/8")(in fair condition), 12 by L. Courtoisnon, Paris (7-1/4")(fair condition), 2 unmarked fruit knives (poor condition) with an Art Nouveau relief detail (6-1/4"), 3 fruit knives by Landers Frary & Clark Aetna Works (6-3/4")(fair condition), and 11 of unknown maker with a beautiful baroque relief collar (9-1/2")(fair condition).

261. A Set of Twelve Silver Dinner Knives, German, ca. 20th Century


Although similar, the knives were manufactured by two different makers: six by the Bremer Silberwarenfabrik, Bremen, 1905-1981; and the other six by the M. H. Wilkens & Söhne, Bremen-Hemelingen (founded 1810). Sterling silver handles are marked with appropriate state silver 800 standard marks. Stainless steel blades. Measure approx. 9-1/2"L.

A pair of heavily weighted silver candlesticks, approx. 11-5/8"H, with square platforms on which the rounded candlestick is set. The rounded base is decorated with a band of acanthus leaves in relief, above which is a gadrooned skirt, then a flaring stem with a band of flowers in relief at the widest topped by another gadrooned skirt, above which is a leafy flair and the candle cup; the bobeches at the top have a ribbed outer edge. The marks on the sides of the base are very worn, one appearing to be an "O", then "LF", and finally a circular mark too worn to determine.
