159. John Cuthbert Hare (American, 1908 - 1978) A New England landscape with a red farmhouse and a pond. Watercolor on paper, signed in black pigment lower right. John Hare specialized in watercolor painting, he is mostly associated with New England harbor scenes and landscapes. Hare received his training in commercial art in Brooklyn at the Pratt Institute and also studied at the Art Students League in Manhattan.
