A beautifully carved white marble torso of a young man on a black wooden stand, ca. 19th Century, possibly a Grand Tour acquisition, with the base approx. 17-1/4"H, the marble fragment approx. 14-3/4"H x 4"D x 6-1/2"W. The fragment lacks the head and most of the arms and legs; the well formed naturalistic shape in a contraposto stance.
