An American Encaustic Tiling Company glazed ceramic tile with the image of a young girl carrying sticks in relief, 6" x 6" x 1/2", glazed in a clear green color, marked on the back U S E T W. The American Encaustic Tiling Company, est. 1876, was one of the first and most successful manufacturers in Zanesville, Ohio, which was the largest center for pottery and tile-making in the world at the time.
