| 703. A Royal Dux Porcelain Figurine of a Maiden Carrying Bundle of Wheat
A porcelain figurine of a maiden harvester carrying bundle of wheat. Decorated overall with green, pink and brown matt glazes and gilt accents. Base marked with appropriate Royal Dux insignia. Royal Dux is the more common name for the Duxer Porzellanmanufaktur, which was founded by E. Eichler in Dux, Bohemia (now Duchov, Czech Republic), in 1860. By the turn of the century, the firm specialized in porcelain statuary and busts of Art Nouveau–style maidens, large porcelain figures, and ornate vases with three-dimensional figures climbing on the sides. The firm is still in business. 300/500 Sold $207.00 back to catalog |
