272. A Pair Of Girandoles In Cast Metals, Marble and Crystals


A pair of girandoles, consisting of two candle holders made of cast and gilded metal on white marble bases with suspended prisms on each. Each measures 14-1/4"H x 5"W x 3"D. The cast and pierced metal portions depict a young woman carrying a container near a dog and a fawn within in a leafy setting, with a ballustrade in the distance. At the top surrounding the candle cup is an ovoid wreath of grape cluster that supports the prisms. A pair of 19th Century girandoles made from cast and pierced metal, white marble bases and beveled crystals, approx. 14-1/4"H, with the pierced, cast and gilt metal on the body representing a young girl with a dog and a fawn standing near a ballustrade and surrounded by leafy trees, on rectangular white marble bases, with beveled crystals suspended from a wreath of grape clusters around the top.

Polished brass lighting fixture with suspended pendants of slightly different lengths featuring Steuben-style iridescent bell-shaped glass shades with ribbed decorations. The shades measure approx. 4"T x 5"W at base, the fixture measures approx. 14"D, the pendants are approx. 22", 22-1/2" & 23" long.

Bronze sculptural trophy on tall plinth with 800 silver engraved plaque, designed by L. Remo. Presented by the city of Cortemaggiore, Italy in 1955 to Luigi Villoresi. Dark green marble stepped base and top, brass tone metal plinth supporting a winged Grecian figure, with overall green patina. Apprx 24-1/2"T.

Won by Luigi Villoresi, 800 marked silver "cup" attached to round wood stepped base with attached plaque; "Il Presidente Della Repubblica". Presented by the president of Italy for his winning of the 1947 Italian Championship. Villoresi drove the Maserati 4cl in this particular race. Apprx 18-1/2"T x 14"W at handles.

A reproduction of the 1898 Liliy-of-the-Valley Faberge Imperial egg. This gold tone egg is enameled with a translucent rose on a guilloche field and supported by four cabriolet legs composed of overlapping leaves veined with hand set crystals. Paw feet are set with pearls. Located inside the egg are three oval miniatures of Nicholas II in his military uniform and the Grand Duchesses Olga and Tatiana, the first two children of the Czar. With extended frames this egg measures approx. 8-1/2" H. Comes with the original paperwork and box.

An ornate fireplace set consisting of a fender and a pair of andirons, the fender comprised of pierced cast brass scrolling motifs and medallions with Fleur de Lis, with an architectural base, and tubular top rails and finials, approx. 59"W x 19"D x 8"H. The andirons are cast and carved baluster shapes with applied scrolled handles and black metal supports, the body probably polished bronze, approx. 22-1/2"H x 10"W x 25-1/2"D.

A striking lamp made from a royal blue glazed porcelain vase shape with a neo-classical ornamented cast bronze base and upper rim, approx. 30"H to the top of the finial and approx. 7" in diameter at the widest point of the body. The lamp is wired for electricity with a newer socket and braided brown silk cord.

280. A Vintage Toy Beer Wagon Drawn By Eight Horses


A vintage movable toy beer wagon in cast iron, drawn a team of eight horses, with two men seated in the wagon and a white dog seated between, painted in polychrome (probably original), with 27 wooden barrels loose in the back, ca. 1930. The men and the dog are removable, and each team of two horses and their harness are separate, screwed together at the harness. The wheels are movable. No maker's marks found. The reins are made of leather, and the swagged chains are a bright brass.

281. A Pair of Art Nouveau Electric Lamps


A pair of Art Nouveau style electric lamps, ca. late 19th-early 20th Century, one depicting a man holding a scythe and the other a woman holding a sheaf of wheat, in cast metal on a metal base, mounted on a circular marble base (non-matching in color), and with tall stalks of wheat, flowers and flower shapes for the lights splaying above with abalone shells appearing as the petals of flowers. The figures had at one time a cold painted finish in colors which is now very worn. No maker's markings found.
