300. A Magnificent Heisler-Manheim Silver Coffee Service, German, ca. Mid - Late 19th Century
This service consists of five pieces: a coffee urn (with a burner) (measures approx. 16"T), a teapot (9-1/2"T), creamer (approx. 6-1/2"), sugar bowl (approx. 6"T) and a tray (19-1/2" x 15"). Molded ram heads are the highlight of the design, as well as cross-bounded C-scroll handles with ivory insulators and acanthus leaves molded decorations. Grapevine finials grace the lids of the service. Concave top with elegant fluting and foliage is separated from a u-shaped bottom by a band with an undulating design. Bottom is decorated with foliage swags accented with ribbons and ram heads. All pieces rest on hoofed feet. Rectangular tray with rounded corners echoes the design of the service pieces and features molded ram heads with laurel swags at 90 degree intervals. The service is properly hallmarked with a German silver standard mark of 800/1000, a crescent moon, a crown, and the maker's mark of the three stars within a triangular cartouche; except for the urn which is marked with a square dotted cartouche (as seen in 15th detail photo). Court's Silversmith, Heisler-Manheim, specialized in Rococo sets. In connection with Belgian silversmith Louis Wolfers (1820-1892) and, from 1890, with his son Philippe. (Ref: Bröhan/Metallkunst der Moderne VI page 27/28). Approx troy oz weights for 800 silver: teapot 35.6, tray 97, coffee urn 110, sugar 26.3, creamer 10.4.

301. An Elaborate American Coin Silver Urn by Bailey & Company, Philadelphia, ca. 1846-1859
An elaborate 19th century American coin silver lidded urn designed with rocaille decorations and stylized flowers and foliage in low relief over gracious bulbous body. Stylized wood handles are the highlights of this beautiful urn. Please note the figural finial on the bell-shhaped lid. The urn rests on a flared undulated base with four rocaille design feet. Front medallion monogrammed "MW". Base stamped with "Bailey & Co." manufacturer's mark and "136 Chestnut Street" address, two lion passant cartouches, one jaguar passant cartouche, date letter "S" within an oval cartouche, and a shield cartouche. Same marks are found on the urn insert. Overall with the lid measures approx. 16-1/2"T x 10"W with the handles.

Marked on the underside with the mark of Tiffany & Co., the words Makers, Sterling Silver 925-1000, pattern number 18376, order number 5090, and the letter M for John C. Moore, Tiffany’s president from 1907-1947. Weighted. Measures approx. 5-1/2"T.

307. An Impressive Silvered Tureen by Reed & Barton
Stepped foot supports a wide bombé body of the tureen with a flared reeded rim borders incorporating stylized foliage decorations. Front and back of the tureen engraved with two large cartouches designed with c-scrolls and ribbons, first one depicts a charming scene with three men participating in an ice-skating race while the crowd watches, and the second cartouche features an engraving that reads "Barney and Berry Cup/ Presented by Barney and Berry/ Springfield, Mass./ U.S.A./ Five Mile Championship." Strap bound handles feature acanthus leaves decorations. Two-tiered lid with a bold gadroon decoration and a large knob finial. Bottom bears an incised mark "MF'D & Plated by Reed & Barton 1126-S". Overall this tureen measures approx. 1'3"T x 1'7"W (with handles).

A rectangular silver cigarette case, slightly arched for the purpose of being more comfortable to carry in a pocket. Front features a finely enameled decoration of two semi-nude ladies fencing. "Head of Diana" silver hallmark dates the piece to ca. 1867, unidentified silversmith's mark "J.R"(?), thumb-piece hallmarked with two letters "v" within rectangular cartouche and silver quality mark "???/84" within an cartouche. Measures approx. 3-1/2" x 3-1/4" x 1/2".
