Venice: Aldine Press, ca. 1591 , "Trattato Della Chiesa" ("Treaty of the Church")...Nel quale sono dichiarate le principali controuersie nate a nostri tempi intorno a questa materia..." by Philippe de Mornay, seigneur du Plessis-Marly, first Italian edition. Translated from the "Traité de la verité de la religion chrétienne contre les athées, épicuriens, payens, juifs, mahométans et autres infidèles" (first published in Antwerp, 1581). Aldine anchor on the title page, and "Triumph over Death" illustration opposite page 1. Marbled edge papers. Brown leather boards and spine with three raised bands, title in gilt letters. Extremities rubbed and worn with losses. Endpapers age toned and soiled. Some pages with bent corners. Edges trimmed, probably at the time the book was rebound. Apprx 5-3/4"T.

Aggiuntoui di nuovo un'altra Tauola dele cose piu notabili che nell'opera si contengono." Translated to Italian by M. Lodovico Domenici. Green mottle paper boards, embossed gilt tooled spine with four flower medallions, title, and accents. Laid paper evenly toned with some foxing, with minor pencil marks. Wear on spine and boards, boards are toned along the perimeter. Possibly rebound. 6" x 4-1/4" x 1/2".

Pargue: Bonaventura, 1992. Folio. Copy 32/92. The text is from the letter written by Columbus to the Spanish Court, describing his journeys to the "Indias." In Czech and English. The etchings are by Czech artist Eva Haskova. The binding is designed and executed by Jan and Jarmila Sobota. The cover is parchment, with gold tooling and acrylic paint. It depicts the Niña, Pinta, and Santa Maria sailing inexorably to the New World. The "treasure" box is leather, cloth and suede, with a 16th Century style map silk-screened onto plexiglass. In a protective cloth case. Fine.

Toronto: Cerebrus Publishing Company Limited, 1977. Large folio. Limited edition of 325 numbered and signed copies out of which this is number 219. Signed by the author and the artist. The book includes a thirty-six color original lithograph "Bison", 1976 (Numbered and signed by the Artist, no artist's proofs. Copper plates destroyed.) in its own linen cloth slipcase. Hand bound in gold tooled leather binding with five raised bands on the spine. (It takes approx. 16 days to hand bind a book like this). The Top and bottom edges are gilded and the leading edge is brown flaked. In a linen cloth slip case. All in a dark wood presentation box with a lock. The box measures approx. 20-1/2" x 15-1/2" x 5". Fine condition.

Limited edition set of 750, this being numbered 22 and signed by the author. Photogravure frontispiece. 3/4 brown paper boards with gold embossing. Cloth spine with affixed paper labels. Deckled edges with gilt upper edges. Spines sun-toned and labels with scuffs and some loss. Overall interiors clean and bright.
