| 58. Minnie Cerula Fuller (American, 19th/20th Century)
A basket of peaches. Oil on canvas, signed and dated 1902 in the lower right corner, not framed, 19" x 28", with a hand written note affixed to the stretcher, "Cleaned January 1924...Minnie Cerula Fuller...45 Cotter Avenue, Akron Ohio". A very nice example of a popular subject; the spilled basket of fruit. The rendering of the fruit and leaves surrounding the basket is particularly well done. Minnie Fuller was a painter and instructor who taught at Buchtel College in Akron, Ohio. She trained at the Art Students League in New York. 1,000/2,000 Sold $862.50 back to catalog |
