Oil on canvas, no signature found, framed in an arched-top spandrel frame with applied ornamentation, canvas size approx. 37" x 30", overall with frame approx. 44" x 38". This full-length portrait depicts a young woman from a family of means standing in a carpeted parlor and holding her fine doll. This is a very good example of a commissioned studio portrait which has the appearance of a photo-assisted technique. From a southern Ohio estate (Miamisburg).
