| 265. An Exquisite Russian Cloisonné and Enamel Tobacco Box Made for Tiffany & Co, Moscow, ca. 1887
Round stout shape box with a removable lid. The lid is embellished with a finely painted enamel portrait medallion depicting a Russian merchant's wife, wearing a kokoshnikk and traditional attire. Overall pan-slavic cloisonné enamel design in royal blue, dark turquoise, burnt orange, black, white and green. Bottom of the box is monogrammed "MLV" in script, gift engraving "From M.A.B. June 24, 1888". Assayer mark of Viktor Savinkov (Postinikova-Loseva # 2112), maker's mark "JFA" (lat.), stamped "Made for Tiffany & Co."
