A glazed ceramic helmet, slightly smaller than life-size, with a shaped shoulder and neck, and with a pierced upper faceplate, with a crest on the top flanked by raised flowers, glazed in cobalt blue designs over white. The designs are rococo and floral with dragons and helmets with lances and shields on either side of the head. Overall the piece measures approx. 14"H x 9-1/2"W x 12"D. It is marked "France" with crossed swords inside the underside. There are two holes with wired metal at the back and one hole in the crest.
