425. A Carved Ivory Figurine of Quan Yin Atop An Elephant, Chinese, Mid-20th Century

The carving depicts a seated Quan Yin in a lotus pose, atop an elephant. Applied black pigments highlight the details. Apocryphal red pigment mark on verso, and on bottom of the carving. The figurine rests on a fitted carved wood base. Without the base measures approx. 12-3/8"T.
