Alexander Lukyan was born March 14th, 1951 in the village of Syngera, Moldova. In 1967 he graduated from the Children's Fine Arts school and in 1973 from Repin Fine Art College, all in Chisinau, Moldova. After graduation, Lukyan worked at the Kartya Moldovenyaska publishing house as an illustrator and later in the Chisinau Fine Art Fund. Since 1978 Lukyan lives and works in Odessa, Ukraine. Alexander Lukyan participated in numerous group exhibitions in Moldova and Romania.
