235. Caspar Hennecke (American, 19th Century)

A painted plaster sculpture of Fortuna and other figures in a group atop an architectural base with "Fortnua" impressed at the lower front. Fortuna holds her cornucopia aloft and stands partially clothed in flowing garments while a woman attends her to the right and another seated woman to the left reads a book. Cupid is seated to the right of her foot with his quiver of arrows and leaning on a classical vase. The sculpture measures approx. 22"H x 10"W x 10"D and is made in a rosy tinted plaster, once painted with a verdegris color layer of paint, now mostly flaked off.
