Intricately carved ivory figures of an Emperor and Empress holding their swords. The carvings feature deep carved lattice garment ornaments and suspended pendants, all are further enhanced by polychrome stone inlay decorations and black pigment highlights. Mounted to a carved wood base, no maker's marks found. Overall with the bases the pieces measure approx. 13-1/2"T.
