877. Scailmont Art Deco Glass Vase, Belgium, circa 1930
By Verreries de Scailmont, created by Charles Catteau (1880-1966), circa 1930. Mold blown, with acid-satined finish of opalescent canary yellow glass. Signed in the design "Ch. Catteau". Bulbous shape with high relief, flaring neck and footed base. Top of rim is polished, however not newly done. Bottom marked "Made In Belgium Scailmont" in circle format. Approx. 9"T. Similar piece of different color is in the permanent collection of the Musee du Verre, Charleroi.

The lot consists of two perfume bottles: first on is of a globular shape with gilt rococo scrollwork overlay, stopper and tripod feet, measures approx. 6-1/4"T; second bottle features three slanted tinted glass oval panels supported by gilt filigree framework with ribbon motifs, similar design stopper and stretcher on bottom are accented with flowers. Measures approx. 10"T.

The bottles are of bulbous form with long slender undulating necks, similar but not identical; olive green molded glass; there are a couple of tiny bubbles in the glass from production; a metal spout and cork stopper on only one of them. Decorated with raised enamel and gilt accents. Measure approx. 8" tall.
