41. Two Miniature Portraits of Childern
A lot of two oval miniature portraits of children, each enclosed in an oval metal frame with a slightly convex glass cover, and each with a bale at the top. The first is a charming baby in an off-the-shoulder dress holding a brush. The back of the frame has a smaller oval opening for memento display. Overall the piece measures 2-1/2" x 2". The second is a miniature portrait of a young child, about toddler age. The rosy-cheeked child has golden curls, a ruffed collar and blue ribbons on either shoulder. Overall this miniature measures 3-1/8" x 2-3/4".

42. Two Portrait Miniatures of Women
Two miniature portraits of women, each in an gold color oval metal frame, each with a bale at the top to hang. The first measures 2-7/8" x 2-3/8" and has the glass fit in the frame so it is slightly concave. The lady in profile appears to come from the early 19th Century and is painted on a mottled pink background. The second is a portrait of a lady who appears to be from the 18th Century. This framed piece has a slightly wider brass frame with beading details, somewhat dented, and plain picture glass, with a rough cut edge. Overall this miniature measures 3" x 2-1/2".

A lot of two miniature portrait of fine ladies, each framed in a black painted wooden frame with an oval opening and glass, the first a lady wearing pearls and sitting in a landscape setting, overall measuring approx. 3-5/8" x 3-1/4", with the oval sight size 2" x 1-1/2", the second a lady in a fancy bonnet, overall measuring approx. 3-3/4" x 3-1/4", the oval sight size 2-3/8" x 1-7/8", with hand-written note on paper, partially visible, in German and dating the piece to Nov. 14, 1854.

The dust cover paper on the back has a text printed in German taken from a book; "Marquise de Pompadour" is written in pencil along one edge.

Each has written on the back of the frame "Bob and Joan", and one has written on the back "The Konigs A. F. King's parents". Framed in a wonderful hand-carved Newcomb Macklin frames. 50. Gloria Welby Fisher (American, 19th Century)
A primitive portrait of a young girl with a flower basket in a landscape. Oil on canvas, signed and dated on verso, 1850, not framed, the canvas size measuring 22-1/4" x 25-1/8". This is a charming example of an American primitive portrait from the middle of the 19th Century, with the characteristic stylization and flattening of form. Especially nice is the fact that the composition includes the entire figure of the child and the pretty depiction of the flower basket, set in front of foliage and an imaginary distant landscape.

The subjects are; Station I: Jesus is Condemned to Death, Station IV: Jesus Meets His Blessed Mother, and Station XI: Jesus is Nailed to the Cross.
