A carved female figure, with remnants of gesso and pigments. The bottom with a hole from a stand, lacking the right hand and the left arm from shoulder down. The figure measures approx. 8-1/4"T.

250. A Wood Carving of St. Casilda, ca. 18th Century
A sculptural painted wood carving of St. Casilda, (d. 1050) measuring approx. 31"H x 10"D x 10"W, missing the lower legs and feet and one arm, with remnants of a gessoed and painted finish overall. St. Casilda was the daughter of a Moorish governor of Toledo. Despite her fathers will she used to bring food to the imprisoned Christians. Once she was caught, but the bread she was fetching in the folds of her dress miraculously turned into roses.

251. A Wooden Statue of a Doctor of the Church, ca. 18th century
A well-carved wooden statue of a Doctor of the Church, measuring approx. 33-1/4"H x 15"W x 9"D. The well-carved figure is made in several parts, with the arms attached at the shoulders and the head is removable. It is unknown what other parts the piece may have had except for the forearms and hands. The statue was gessoed and painted in polychrome, and remnants of the gesso and colors remain.

252. Daniel Chester French (American 1850 - 1931)
"Seated Lincoln", hollow form bronze with brown patina, inscribed on verso "D.C. French 1915". Edge near base inscribed "Cast Fr/Sculptor's Plaster Maquette". Approx. 9-3/4"T. It is worth noting that this plaster exhibits Abraham Lincoln with his left foot advanced. This was changed to the right foot being advanced when the image was pointed up to the six-foot version. No founder's mark was seen.

A portrait bust of a pretty woman, ca. 1930. Bronze with green patina on a walnut wood base (not attached), the piece measuring approx. 14"H, the base approx. 16" x 9" x 1-1/4"H oval. No signature or foundry mark was found. The open underside of the bust has a plate for bolting down.

254. A Gilt Bronze Bas Relief Plaque Cast By Gorham Co. Founders
A gilt bronze relief plaque cast by the Gorham Co. Founders, measuring approx. 8-1/8"H x 6-1/2"W x 3/4"D plus a triangular support on the back. The bas relief depicts four nude figures; three men and one woman within a rounded top corner plaque on a plinth base, free-standing on a triangular leg. The Gorham Co. Founders and marks are one one side of the base and the artist's initials are cast into the opposite side of the base, "C/ALADD". (Possibly Anna Coleman Ladd)

Book of the Month Club From the Schubert Bibliography Of The Publications Of The Rowfant Club, Part 2, 1962,. p. 44. "Obverse: ' Frederick Locker The Rowfant Club Cleveland Ohio'; in low relief, the bust of Frederick Locker and dates 1821 and 1895. Reverse: the Locker Jester bookplate, designed by Stacy Marks, which appeared on the title page of Locker's PATCHWORK. Diameter, 3 inches; thickness of rim 3/16 inch." Boxed in a royal blue case, interior in black velvet on the bottom and ivory satin on the top inside cover. Small brass press lock. Designed by Rowfanter George G. Adomeit and cast in bronze by Joe Motto in Florence, Italy. One hundred and fifty copies were produced.
