805. A Fine Cloisonne Vase from the Ando Jubei Kiln
A finely made, part wireless cloisonne vase, with a large bulbous body and a small silver metal rim around the foot with an impressed mark from the Ando Jubei kiln. The interior is enameled in a grey-green mottled glaze and the exterior thickly enameled, mostly in a plain ivory glaze, with two clusters of images of carp in cloisonne flowing around the wide part of the sides. The beautifully executed fish are delicate in color, and have the skillful effect of appearing at a distance through the water surrounding them. Overall the vase measures 8-1/2"H x 9-1/2" at the widest point. Though imperfect, the principal appeal of the vase is from the serene and restrained composition. Professional repair would greatly improve the appearance and the enjoyment of the undamaged parts.

806. A Lot of Two Cloisonne Vases
A lot of two Chinese Cloisonne on brass vases, ca. 20th C., the first 6" H, the other 6-3/4" H with the lid, both decorated in a black background cloisonne work with scrolls and flowers in blue, cinnabar, yellow, pink, ivory and green; the ginger jar shaped vase impressed with "Made In China" on the underside.

807. A Japanese Bowl, ca. 19th Century
A finely painted and decorated plate, or bowl with a Kylin in the center, with gilt work. there are three borders; red pigment floral design, blue with gilt depicting a flute, sword, and pencils, third edge border has translucent rice shapes which allow light through in either direction, also with hand applied pigmentation. The underside is marked in under glazed blue and is also decorated. It measures approx. 1-1/2"T x 9-1/4"D.

809. Chinese Lotus Slippers, Late 19th Century
Pair of late 19th Century Chinese lotus slippers. These slippers have hard, linen covered soles decorated with pink and green cherry blossoms. Upper half is black linen embroidered with pink and blue flowers. Lavender band at the top of the slipper is embroidered with silver colored geometric designs. For many years Chinese beauty was judged by the size of women's feet. The ideal foot was three inches long, and shaped like a lotus bud. These slippers measure apprx 3-1/2" x 6".

The small ivory box is of circular form with a removable lid, carved with a dragon motif in low relief, black pigment accents, measures approx. 1"H x 1-1/2"D.
