795. A Trio of Leather and Papier Mache Trunks on a Stand
Three hand-painted papier mache and leather boxes depicting various scenes with figures. Hinged lids, brass hardware and handles. Interior of the two smaller boxes are lined with blue fabric. From smallest to largest measure 6"T x 7-1/2" x 13," 9"T x 12" x 19," and 12"T x 18" x 27". The black wood stand measures approx. 8"T x 20" x 34" and is lined with a heavy black slate slab.

804. A Japanese Ivory Carved Sword, ca. 1870-1930
Carved ivory, with raised relief scenes with soldiers, villagers and horses. Scabbard in five segments with intersecting metal work (possibly silver), inlaid with turquoise and coral colored stones. Capped end and handle. Carving on handle shows someone about to lose his head. Black pigment is faint. Untempered, soft steel blade, dull, approx. 16"L. Overall approx. 27"L.
