A Victorian brass fireplace fan, measuring approx. 33-3/4"H x 44"W x 7"D at the base. With movable pierced fan blades that retract into the center and are held by anchor latches at either side. The body is cast brass with the central image a dancer with a tambuorine flanked by oval cartouches with lions, and a larger lion's mask near the base.

751. A Fancy Brass and Glass Watch Holder, French, ca. 1875-1900
A fancy brass and glass watch holder, French, ca. 1875-1900. The cast glass figurine that forms the central body of the piece represents a baby on the back of a snail on a mound base that is bordered by an egg and dart design. Part of this is frosted and part is clear glass. The armature that holds the glass piece is in a thick bent wire with ornamentation of viny leaves and dasies. The circular top part that would house the watch has a beaded detail all around and more viny leaves at the top. This part is also a bell that is struck with a spring arm to the right made with the same thick metal wire. Originally the metals were painted and gilded, now mostly worn off. Overall the piece measures 8-1/4"H.

An Art Nouveau watch holder in the shape of a gilt cast metal bird atop an octagonal breen marble base. The bird stands up and has it's wings extended fully upwards toward a curving armature that terminates in the watch hook. The name "Freecourt" is impressed into the metal at the side. The details of the reverse side of the bird are impressed into the hollow of the back. Overall the piece measures 7-1/2"H.

An Empire watch holder, ca. 1815-30, in the form of a gilt eagle in flight holding the watch hook below which is a circular silver plated metal machine made architectural base with three columns supported by an octagonal base, seated on a circular form of wood covered with worn peacock blue color velvet, on top of a 1" wood base on three button wood feet. Overall the piece measures 10-1/4"H.
