A portrait of a woman holding a book. Oil on canvas, illegibly signed "Boit...." in the lower left corner and dated '03, canvas size approx. 30" x 25", with framing overall approx. 33" x 28". There is a stamped inscription on the back of the stretchers from the Hammersmith School of Art (England). Other markings on the verso in chalk have been obscured. There are also the letters E.S.K stenciled on verso.
