211. Image by Salvador Dali (Spanish, 1904-1989)

"The Dream of Christopher Columbus." Lithograph in colors, with the signature in the lower right margin, numbered in pencil 296/300 in the lower left corner, also stamped and signed by Diego Colon in the lower right. The stamp indicates that Diego Color is a 20th generation descendant of Christopher Columbus. The image measures approx. 30" x 22-3/4". The lithograph is matted with a cream paper mat and a gilt beaded fillet, and framed under plexiglas and the overall measurement with the framing is approx. 40-3/4" x 31".

The first Diego Colon was the firstborn son of Christopher Columbus (and his wife, the Portuguese noblewoman Filipa Moniz) and the second Viceroy of the Indies.
