| 104. Alfred James Wands (American, 1904-1998)
A Grand Tetons mountainscape. Oil on canvas, signed in the lower right corner, the canvas size approx. 25" x 30", and with the framing overall approx. 31-1/2" x 35-1/2"/ Alfred James Wands graduated from the Cleveland Art Institute with honors. He then spent time in Paris, France studying at the Academie Julian. He also studied in Brussels, Munich, and at Western Reserve University. By 1943 he had become the Camp Artist at the YMCA of the Rockies, where he taught summer art classes. By 1955 he opened his own Studio and Gallery in Estes Park, Colorado.
