960. A Waylande Gregory Ceramic Bowl (American, 1905-1971)

A pretty decorative bowl by Waylande Gregory, with a modern stylized floral design on the inside in blue-green and gold lustre over the white stoneware, appearing as a resist pattern. The exterior of the simple bowl and foot are in a gold lustre. The signature is inscribed through the lustre on the underside, partially revealing the insignia of the manufacturer of the bowl in green underneath. The bowl measures 6-7/8" in diameter at the lip x 2-5/8"H.

Waylande Gregory (1905-1971) designed several works for Cowan Pottery, Cleveland, Ohio, ca. 1927-1929.
