Viktor Merkushev was born in Perm, Russia, in 1956. During a brief period of time Merkushev lived in Gilendzik and Apatit, and since 1973 in St. Petersburg. Merkushev graduated from the Muhin Art Institute of St.-Petersburg. He specializes in landscape and book illustration. So far he completed more than two hundred book illustration projects in various publishing houses of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Smolensk.
