764. A Lot of Four Horn Snuff Boxes

A lot of four horn snuff boxes with hinged lids, the first in the shape of the tip of a horn with an oval lid with a piece of cork affixed to the underside, measuring approx. 2-3/4"L x 2" at the widest point. The second a box made of horn with a horn veneer inset into the lid, measuring approx. 3-1/4" x 1-1/2" x 1"H. The third in a pillow shape fitted together with small brads around the rim, with a hatch-like hinged lid in the center, measuring approx. 3-1/2" x 2" x 1-1/8"H. The last is a rectangular form with oval sides, fitted together with pins and metal bands, the hinged lid attached to a piece of wood on the underside with metal pins and with a curvilinear metal plate pinned to the top for monogramming, measuring approx. 3-7/8" x 2-1/8" x 1-3/8"H. This last box has a label inside that reads "Horn Snuff Box. Spain, c. 1840".
