| 761. A Lot of Four Snuff Boxes
A lot of four snuff boxes, the first an oval shaped silver box with a hinged lid with the exterior entirely embellished with engraved designs and an initial engraved in the center, measuring approx. 3-1/8" x 1-3/4' x 3/4"H, with hallmarks on the underside of the lid and the remains of two labels reading "Birmingham, 1793" and "Samuel Pember". The second is an elongated oval silver box with a hinged lid, the sides with a leaf and dart motif and the lid with a beaded then a reed and ribbon rim, and with initials engraved in the center, measuring approx. 2-1/2"W x 1"D x 3/8"H, marked with hallmarks on the underside. The next is a circular box in worn silver plate finish, measuring approx. 2" in diameter x 1"H, with an applied foliate decoration on the top and a three-leaf clover in the center, with the hinge embellished on the outside by a small flower, and with a bale for hanging, with no marks found. The last is an oval box with polished agate for the top and the bottom, held together by a simple tooled brass side and rim with hinge, measuring 1-7/8" x 1-1/2" x 5/8"H. 150/250 Sold $270.25 back to catalog |
