252. Daniel Chester French (American 1850 - 1931)

"Seated Lincoln", hollow form bronze with brown patina, inscribed on verso "D.C. French 1915". Edge near base inscribed "Cast Fr/Sculptor's Plaster Maquette". Approx. 9-3/4"T. It is worth noting that this plaster exhibits Abraham Lincoln with his left foot advanced. This was changed to the right foot being advanced when the image was pointed up to the six-foot version. No founder's mark was seen.
