The well painted architecture of the interior establishes the young couple as prosperous upper middle-class people. The title of the painting is written on the verso of the canvas.

Additionally, there is a small color sketch on the reverse, upside down, of another person. The back of the canvas is covered with an acetate sheet so the inscription and the sketch are visible.
