Mark Kremer was born in St. Petersburg, Russia (1928) into a family of artists. His father was a painter, which brought out his talent for painting. Mark Kremer graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts named after Il`ia Repin). Today Mark Kremer is one of the most talented masters of modern Russian fine arts (a member of the Russian Academy of Arts, Merited Artist of Russia). The artist paints landscapes, still life, portraits and thematic paintings. His landscapes bring out the beauty of Russia’s midland, give a sense of the country’s vastness. "Hut." Oil on board, signed lower right. Image size approx. 9½" x 12¾"; framed overall approx. 19½" x 22¾". Valentin Kavoline lived and worked in St. Petersburg, Russia. He had studied at the Leningrad Art College from 1934 till 1953, and at the Art Academy from 1953 till 1959 with A.A. Mylnikova and E.I. Tabakova. His graduation work was exhibited at the Seventh Exhibition of the USSR's art student's diploma works. Kavolin participated in numerous St. Petersburg and regional exhibitions throughout his lifetime.

Evgeny Malyh was born on February 23rd, 1956 in Sverdlovskaya region of Russia. In 1975 he graduated from the I.D. Shadra Fine Arts college in Ekatirengurg. Fromo 1981 to 1987 he studied and graduated from Repin Institute of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg (then Leningrad). His graduation work, a monumental mural "Struggle for Peace", was nominated for the gold medal of Fine Arts Academy in St. Petersburg. From 1987 to 1991 he worked at the State Pedagogical Institute as a teacher of drawing art. Currently Malyh is a Professor of drawing arts at the St. Petersburg Repin Fine Arts Academy. His exhibited in Germany, Norway and USA. Malyh participates in annual exhibitions of works by professors of Repin Fine Arts Academy, held in museum of the Academy.

"Chocolate". Oil on masonite, signed with all information in Cyrillic on verso. Framed. Measures approx. 14" x 16". Sergey Bulatu was born in 1957, in the town of Semipalatinsk, Kazahstan. From 1977 to 1982 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Russia, which is also where he held his first exhibition in 1978. In 1989 he participated in an arts exhibition in Kishenev, Moldavia. In late 80's and early 90's Buzatu worked as a freelance artist throughout western Europe. In the late 90's Sergey Buzatu was painting icons at the Mercy of St. Vincent Monastery, Ukraine. From 1999 to 2003 Buzatu completed the commissions from the Ukrainian government officials.

He taught at the American High School at Dreux Air Force Base. His most popular subjects were landscapes and still life in the modernist style. Chartres Cathedral was a particular favorite subject of the artist.
