A hand painted white earthen ware vase of bulbous shape body with a long slender neck accentuated with two bands; the body depicts a hunting scene with a warrior and a dragon in fighting with a mythological creature, all over cream color ground filled with foliage and flower motifs; blue outlines add interest to the vase. No maker's marks found, measures approx. 12-1/2"T.

This lot includes: a small double-gourd shape vase with two small gilded handles applied diagonally at shoulders, graduated beige matte finish adds dimension to the high gloss flower designs, raised gilt band decoration on top, base marked with ca. 1911-1921 Nippon green insignia stamp, measures approx. 5-1/2"T x 4"W. The second vase is of squared upward tapering shape, mouth with slightly raised corners, designed with yellow high gloss flowers over graduatd matte blue ground; base, mouth and all the designs highlighted in gilt, base of the vase stamped with a the mark as the accompanying piece; measures approx. 12-1/2"T.

A very decorative Royal Bayreuth vase, measuring approx. 7-1/2"H x 4" in diameter at the widest point, with polychrome and gilt decorations. There is a cobalt blue underglaze at the shoulder and a band around the middle, embellished with transfer printed gilt foliate designs. Between the two areas of cobalt is a band of clear glaze on which is a transfer print of yellow, red, white and pink roses and buds. The lower portion is entirely in a gilt finish inscribed with Fin de Siecle designs. There is an oval cartouche on one side of a transfer printed beautiful young lady carrying a muff, encircled in a wreath of gilt design. The vase is marked on it's underside.

This wonderful little piece is of cylinder shape with a tiny flared mouth; the vase features a portrait medallion depicting a young lady holding a violin in her right hand and a note sheet in her right, she is probably rehearsing a piece by Max Reger "Abendlied", as it is also the title of this vase; portrait is signed "Wagner," a fine and very prolific miniature and porcelain painting German artist of the late 19th early 20th centuries. Overall body is in lustre glaze which changes from pale blue at the top to dark navy color on the bottom; tall dandelions and other Art Nouveau inspired floral decorations in raised gilt add richness to this delightful piece. Base bears a blue underglaze 'beehive' mark, hand-written mark "Dec:#186/ Depase?/ Abendlied/ 4083." Overall measures approx. 5"T x 2"W.

An unusually large size piece of Zsolnay eosin glazed porcelain in the form of a reticulated bowl featuring stylized figures and horses all around the upward tapered rim, base is of round tapered form; stamped with Zsolnay factory insignia, as well as "Made in Hungary." stamp. The bowl measures approx. 8" in diameter at the widest point and 4-3/8"H.

The glaze is a mottled rough textured “toffee glaze”. Lachenal was an important French ceramicist of the Art Deco period, establishing his own studio in Boulogne-sur-Seine near Paris in 1911. This vase is a bulbous form with a distinctive rim and base is encapsulated with thin silver foil. The underside is inscribed and signed. Approx. 12-1/4"T.

Marked with an impressed mark on the underside.

An Austrian hand built pottery head of a woman wearing a blue scarf, fashioned in a stylized manner of Vally Wieselthier (1895-1945). The bust is hollow and the eyes are openings. The glazes are glossy and slightly translucent. Overall the head measures approx. 8"H x 5"W x 5-1/2"D, and is marked on the underside of the base "Austria" and "4628".

An Austrian pottery wall mask, in the manner of Vally Wieselthier (1845-1945) with hand painted decorative glazes in colors, somewhat translucent in parts. The face is of an amusingly stylized girl in a blue hat, with applied coils of orange curls at the left and a teal color ribbon at the right. The mask is hollow, and the eyes are open. The hand painted decorations are charmingly done, with bright rosy red cheeks and smeered lipstick. There is a paper label with "535" in pencil on the bottom edge. Overall it measures 5"H x 3-5/8"W x 2"D.

The character of the piece is stylized in the manner of the Wiener Werkstatte, though the partial mark in the glaze on underside has not been identified.

A group of 20 pieces of Minton "Ivanhoe" porcelain tableware, consisting of a square serving plate, approx. 9" x 9", an oval serving dish, approx. 9-1/2" x 5-1/4", six luncheon plates, measuring approx. 8-7/8" in diameter, six teacups and saucers. Each piece is marked on the underside and is decorated on the front with a feminine transfer design and with hand painted colors. The design depicts floral swags and is rimmed with blue beaded borders with oval cartouches surrounding red roses and accented with pink bows. The outer rim is glazed with an ochre stripe.

The dignified portly man stands wearing green pants, yellow hose and a vivid cobalt blue mantle with lavender cuffs and collar. The spout comes protrudes from the rounded front of his collar and the handle is glazed in green and yellow and appears to be part of the flowing garment at his back.
